Kirkwood’s corner of Atlanta is where Dead End Drinks has been operating since March 2014, when it opened under the name Ration & Dram before rebranding to match its signature spooky aesthetic, which includes permanent Halloween decorations and skull wallpaper throughout the space. The bar sits near Decatur, Candler Park, and Lake Claire, positioning it as a neighborhood anchor for Atlanta’s east side.
Co-owner Andy Minchow is an experienced bartender and bar consultant whose work has been recognized in Bon Appétit, Imbibe, Esquire, and Atlanta Magazine. He won the national Sandeman Port contest at Tales of the Cocktail and previously worked at Emeril’s Atlanta and Holeman & Finch Public House. Co-owner Caitlin Crawford manages operations and kitchen direction.
The kitchen runs seasonal menus and accommodates dietary restrictions including gluten-free preparations and vegetarian options. Dinner service runs Wednesday through Saturday from 5pm to 10pm. The venue’s upstairs space accommodates private events for up to 50 guests cocktail-style or 25 seated for dinner.
