Bleach Film Lab is an Atlanta-based hand-developed film processing service founded by Henry Reed and Nancy Elle. The lab processes film, disposable cameras, and provides digital scanning services, handling each batch individually by hand rather than through automated bulk processing. Reed and Elle established the lab after relocating to Atlanta and finding local resources for analog photographers and quality film development to be insufficient.
The process runs on a weekly schedule. Customers drop off film at the lab’s dropbox inside Olive + Pine, located at 6 Olive Street in Avondale Estates, Georgia 30002, next to Wonderful World Coffee. That location is open Sunday through Thursday from 8am to 10pm and Friday through Saturday from 9am to 10pm. Customers who cannot drop off in person can mail film to PO Box 42005, Atlanta, GA 30311. The weekly submission cutoff is Monday at 9am.
Development takes place on Mondays, with scanning completed on Tuesdays. Final scanned images are delivered to customers via WeTransfer by Tuesday evening. The lab delivers only digital scans of developed negatives and does not produce physical prints, though customers may request their negatives be returned.
Payment methods accepted include Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and online payment options. Gift cards are available through the lab. The founders communicate schedule deviations, holidays, or special batch announcements through both the website and their Instagram account at @bleachfilmlab.
