OK Yaki is a Japanese okonomiyaki restaurant in Atlanta’s East Atlanta neighborhood, located at 714 Moreland Ave SE, Suite D. The concept started as a pop-up in 2016 and opened its permanent brick-and-mortar location in December 2020. The restaurant centers on Osaka-style street food and describes its mission as bringing new and authentic Japanese foods to Atlanta.
The core menu focuses on okonomiyaki, the savory Japanese pancake that defines the restaurant’s identity. Additional items include yakisoba, handmade gyoza, karaage chicken, kombu burger, potato salad, and yaki mochi. On the beverage side, guests can order whisky highballs, Asahi draft beer served in frozen mugs, and a selection of cocktails.
OK Yaki seats diners both indoors and outside. Kitchen hours run until 12 AM Tuesday through Thursday and until 1 AM Friday and Saturday, with a limited late-night menu available during the final hour of service each night. The extended hours make it a notable late-night option in East Atlanta’s dining scene.
The restaurant hosts a monthly karaoke event with a casual format, described as having no stage, where guests pass a microphone and sing together. Japanese-language songs are encouraged at these events. OK Yaki takes phone orders at 404-999-YAKI and processes online takeout orders through Toast Tab. Gift cards and branded merchandise are also available for purchase.
Parking for the restaurant is available on Pickens and Brownwood streets nearby. Job applications are accepted through an online form on the restaurant’s website. The establishment maintains social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Yelp.
