At 2814 Norman Berry Drive in East Point, Georgia, My Best Music Academy (MBMA Academy) provides intensive music training to students ranging from age five through adults, including those preparing for college auditions and professional careers. The academy runs seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., making it one of the few local music programs with consistent Sunday availability.
Private and group instruction covers vocals, piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, brass, drums, and violin. Beyond individual lessons, the academy operates after-school programs in partnership with more than ten schools and organizations, collectively reaching over 375 students. These programs incorporate musical theater, drama, dance, private lessons, music production, and vocal training.
Faculty are described as working artists rather than hobbyists, and all instructors hold degrees or active professional performance credentials rather than functioning as part-time teachers. Instruction integrates music theory, ear training, performance psychology, and real stage time through ensemble participation and recitals. Industry mentorship is woven into the curriculum so students develop professional habits alongside technical skills. College audition preparation is a defined part of the curriculum for advanced students, addressing both repertoire selection and audition-day technique. My Best Voice, a vocal-focused partner organization, collaborates on vocal training programming. Students who complete the full program pathway receive an MBMA Academy Completion Certificate.
International enrichment opportunities include the Sankofa Exchange study experience in Ghana. A New York City Broadway trip is scheduled for July 15 through 17, 2026, offering students performance exposure beyond Atlanta. A summer camp is also available alongside a production of The Jungle Book.
The academy’s onboarding process involves a free registration step, a consultation call within 24 hours, and a $47 introductory lesson that allows new students to experience instruction before committing to a full enrollment plan.
