Serving clients since 1992, Essence of Braiding & Weaving is a private, appointment-only natural hair studio founded by Master Cosmetologist Dionne James. The studio is located at 879 Plymouth Drive, Jonesboro, Georgia 30236, in the Stockbridge/Jonesboro area southeast of Atlanta, and operates within a private residential home setting equipped with professional shampoo facilities and premium salon equipment. A second location operates in Baltimore, Maryland.
The menu of signature braided and woven styles includes tribal braids, knotless braids, cornrows, passion twists, crochet braids, tree braids, and full hair weaves with leave-out. Pricing for these styles begins at $150 and extends to $380 and above, varying with the complexity of the chosen style and the client’s individual hair characteristics. Additional services available on an a la carte basis include silk press, color services, cuts, trims, hot oil treatments, braid removal, and loc maintenance. Professional shampoo and blowout services can be added at the time of booking.
Studio policy supports a calm, focused, one-on-one experience. All booking is conducted online through Vagaro, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A $50 non-refundable deposit, applied toward the total service cost, is required at booking. The studio accepts one guest per appointment, does not permit children, and maintains a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals. Complimentary snacks and refreshments are provided to clients during appointments.
