At 231 Mitchell Street, Atlanta, GA 30303, Bottle Rocket ATL has operated since 2011 as a neighborhood gathering spot in the Castleberry Hill area, combining a sushi program with grill entrees and a full cocktail and beer bar. Owners Josh Calvin and Bonny McKinnon describe the restaurant as a community hangout where regulars are known by name and drink preference.
The food menu opens with appetizers including edamame, tuna tataki, and house-made crab rangoon. Signature grill items include the Bottle Rocket Burger made with black angus beef and Korean BBQ sauce, Japanese Fried Chicken using a proprietary spice blend, a tuna burger, and flatiron steak. Recent additions include catfish sliders, a vegan curry tofu wrap, and Broke Boy Rockefeller, a smoked oysters preparation. The sushi program covers customizable poke bowls, makimono rolls, hand rolls, and specialty rolls, with the BR Roll cited as the people’s choice for best roll alongside options such as the Whistle Pop roll. Fried rice and wings round out the menu.
The beverage program includes draft beers priced $6 to $8, bottled and canned beers at $7 to $10, vodka seltzers at $6, vodka tea at $6, and wine by the glass at $10 to $15.
Hours run Sunday 11am to 12am and Monday through Saturday 11am to 2am, with late-night service available on weekdays.
