Women’s Health & Midwifery Center – Genesis Birth Concepts Inc.

Genesis Birth Concepts Inc. is a dual-entity women’s healthcare organization established in 2024 and based at 2788 Bayard Street, Suite 100 in East Point, Georgia, in the South Atlanta region. The organization can be reached at 404.291.8028 or by email at info@genesisbirthconcepts.com, and a patient portal is available for account access and management online.

The organization was founded by Certified Nurse Midwife Lynette Allen-Pye, who carries over 30 years of clinical service and more than 4,000 successful deliveries. Allen-Pye received the Armentia Jarret Award in 1994. Co-founder Cherisse Howell, CNM, brings 24 years of clinical nursing experience and over 10 years in nursing leadership focused on expanding community healthcare access. Howell completed her master’s in nursing with a midwifery specialty from Georgia College and State University in 2023.

The first entity under Genesis Birth Concepts is the Women’s Wellness and Midwifery Center, providing comprehensive women’s healthcare from puberty through post-menopause. Services include wellness exams, breast examinations, obstetric care, STI screenings, pelvic floor evaluations, newborn circumcision, and behavioral health therapy. The center addresses routine wellness needs as well as more complex gynecological and obstetric concerns under a midwifery-centered care model.

The second entity, Genesis Birth Center, features four individual birthing suites offering natural childbirth and water birth options using ceramic birthing pools, with all deliveries attended by experienced Certified Nurse Midwives. The organization places explicit emphasis on serving underserved demographics and individuals lacking adequate healthcare access or insurance coverage in the greater Atlanta area.

The practice accepts most insurance plans, with BlueCross BlueShield specifically excluded as noted on the website. Genesis Birth Concepts describes its purpose as advancing equitable access to high-quality midwifery and women’s health services for the South Atlanta community. The East Point location at Bayard Street places the organization within an area the founders identify as underserved, and the two-entity model allows the practice to handle both preventive outpatient care and fully attended in-facility births without patients needing to transfer between different provider networks for their full continuum of women’s health needs.
